DINING ON THE PG
Two of our favorite dining rooms in the whole fleet are featured on the Paul Gauguin, L’Etoile and La Veranda. The food is fantastic, particularly the lunches in the Veranda. The fresh fish onboard is second to none; try the fish on the table luncheon menu. The casual dress code makes for relaxing, comfortable dining and I personally really enjoy the informality. The Gauguines drift through the dining room with their graceful dancing. The day at Motu Mahana a wonderful buffet is served with steaks, mahi mahi and all the trimmings. You can also eat out on deck at Le Grill. There are multiple dining choices. Click below for menus from the Paul GauguGrill. There are multiple dining choices. ENTERTAINMENT ON THE PG
The ship does offer some standard entertainment as all the Regent ships offer such as singers and comedians. What makes the Paul Gauguin special are the Paul Gauguin social hostesses the Gauguines, the special lecturers and the top rated dance groups that come aboard to entertain you. The Gauguines are local Tahitian girls who are on the ship both as entertainers and also as tour hosts. Talking with these delightful young ladies you can learn a lot about the islands, the people and their customs. They are always around willing to help and talk with you at your pleasure. The ship also features the leading dance troup in a concert during the cruise.
Lecture and Enrichment Programs: There are some outstanding lectures on the Paul Gauguin. Dr. Mark Eddows a New Zealander can tell a story that will keep you spellbound of the history of the islands and in particular the TRUE story of the Mutiny on the Bounty. Dr. Michael Poole has a fascinating lecture about the oceans around Tahiti and offers a new look at how we see dolphins, whales and creatures in the sea. He has a film he shows that is really very interesting. Dont miss these two outstanding experts you will not be disappointed in their presentation.
