Cancelling pre-paid shore excursions once onboard
The cancellation period without
penalty for shore excursions is 36 hours. If guests
cancel within the 36 hour period they are charged
100% of the excursion price.
If
shore excursions are purchased with credit card in
advance either on the Web site or by other means and
then cancelled once onboard outside of the 36-hour
penalty period, then the credit card charges will be
issued in the form of a
cash-refundable
shipboard credit,
and will not be refunded to the credit card.I
Shipboard Credit Information
Expenses
incurred against a guest’s account will be
posted against non cash
refundable credits first
(such as AMX credits,
promotional shipboard credits provided by RSSC and
most Travel Agents) and then against cash-refundable shipboard credits.
Any remaining surplus can be claimed by the
guest in cash.
For
example, a guest pre-purchases $500 in shore
excursions on the Regent Web site. This guest
also has a $300 shipboard credit that was provided
by Regent, which is not refundable in cash.
Onboard, the guest then cancels all $500
pre-purchased shore excursions prior to the 36-hour
penalty period and receives a $500 cash-refundable
credit, which is added to the $300 Regent shipboard
credit, resulting in a total of $800 in shipboard
credits.
During
the cruise, the guest purchases $380 in
excursions and $320 in spa treatments for a total of
$700 in purchases. The $700 in purchases first goes
against the $300 non-refundable shipboard credit
provided by Regent, and then the $400 balance goes
against the cash-refundable credit from the
cancelled shore excursions. The guest would
then be able to receive a refund of $100 in cash for
the remaining cash-refundable shipboard credit.
Shipboard credits can be used for laundry, spa or
beauty treatments, shop purchases, purchases of
premium wines and other liquors,special
transportation arrangements made on board, and most
other expenses that can be put on a passengers
shipboard account.
However, they cannot be used as a
deposit for a future cruise or as a future cruise
credit. All shipboard credits must be used while on
board. It is a “use it, or lose it” policy. Any
remaining cash-refundable shipboard credit must be
claimed onboard.
This is Regents policy on
Shore Excursions
Please note: In order to ensure quality guides and
sufficient transportation, RSSC must provide the
tour operator with guest counts at least 36
hours in advance. Therefore no refunds will be given
within 36 hours of tour departure for cancellations
or no-shows. Please pay special attention to
scheduling and tour lengths when booking your shore
excursions. In many cases, it is not possible to
participate in more than one tour per day in a given
port. Tours operate rain or shine. Tours require
minimum participation levels to operate so please
sign up as early as possible. Tours may be cancelled
if minimum participation levels are not met. Prices,
Itineraries and General Information shore excursion
prices are subject to change to meet unexpected cost
increases or currency fluctuations. The information
provided here is current as of today. However,
changes may occur before your scheduled departure.
Please consult the Destination Services Desk onboard
for information and current pricing. During local or
national holidays, access to certain facilities
(such as museums or archaeological sites) may be
limited or denied. In such instances, adjustments
will be made to minimize inconvenience to guests.
Some tours have limited availability. Please sign up
early to avoid disappointment. RSSC reserves the
right to require guests to complete a liability
waiver for select shore excursions.
