Comparison of
Regent, CSA, and
Travelex Insurance Plans
This can be very confusing. The key issues are pre-existing
conditions, primary or secondary coverage for medical costs, amount
of emergency evacuation insurance, your age, whether you are
covering children. For extended long cruises it becomes even more
complex. No ONE policy stands out as the best it depends on your
personal situation.
PLEASE NOTE: The insurance information provided is on an "as
is" basis for information purposes only. We do not warrant the
accuracy, adequacy or completeness of the details
contained in this information and expressly disclaim liability for
any errors or omissions. Payment of claims
and policy rules are at the discretion of the insurance company.
All rates and benefits are subject to change and can change without
notice as insurance providers update their plans and pricing
periodically. While we strive to keep up-to-date information with
any and all provider updates as they occur, it is best to call us or
contact the provider prior to purchase. Purchasing deadlines exist
for some policies to receive for full coverage.
We can purchase any of the listed insurances on your behalf. Of
course you can travel without insurance or purchase a policy of your
choosing. Simply let us know what decisions you make.

KEY ISSUES CLARIFIED
|
PRIMARY
OR SECONDARY COVERAGE |
Best insurer on this issue: Travelex
This can be a big issue.
Many people ONLY want primary insurance on their travel policy for
medical expenses.
If you have two insurance companies involved, then it can be a
problem when overseas and can create more stress. Some
policies will not cover you overseas and until you are in the
critical situation it can be difficult to determine these issues.
We have heard of real problems for people who do not have PRIMARY
medical travel insurance.
The insurance company has much higher risk associated with this
coverage.
Regent
and CSA – only offer secondary coverage.
Best insurer on this issue: CSA
All pre-existing conditions
covered if paid within 24 hours of the final payment.
Travelex offers full pre-existing
coverage but premium must be paid within 21 days of DEPOSIT for the
trip. If not paid in time the travelers not covered for pre-existing
conditions AND neither are the family members.
Clarity on coverage without the pre-existing
condition
waiver.
You must be free of any new condition and had no change in treatment
for a pre-existing condition for 90 days (Travelex) or 180 days (CSA)
before purchasing the insurance. If you meet this qualification then
you ARE covered for
those particular pre-existing conditions.

AGE
CONCERNS – DEPENDS ON YOUR AGE |

you are, then Regent.

Another thing to consider is the MedJetAssist card
Here is the information from their
website:
MedjetAssist is your ticket home if you become ill or are injured.
As a MedjetAssist member, if you are hospitalized virtually anywhere
in the world more than 150 miles from home, simply call MedjetAssist
and a specially equipped aircraft with a medical team can be
dispatched to bring you to your home hospital or hospital of your
choice so you can be treated by your personal physician and be close
to your family
MedjetAssist is a prepaid, air
medical transportation membership program -- not a travel insurance
policy or health care plan. MedjetAssist was created to
provide affordable, high-quality air ambulance service to
individuals, families and businesses.
Lloyd's of London underwrites the
program to guarantee that a transport will be available to every
MedjetAssist member in time of need.
MedjetAssist transports members
without regard to medical necessity. Members who are
hospitalized may choose to be transported to a hospital of their
choice.
There is no limit on the cost of a
medical transport. And unlike travel insurance or travel
platinum cards, MedjetAssist provides medical evacuations for its
members both globally and domestically.
MedjetAssist's services are provided to
members 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
MedjetAssist is
an annual travel membership program for people who travel for
business or pleasure, in the United States or abroad.
