Report on the Voyager
The Voyager is a
brand new, all-balcony, all-suite ship. She started sailing in April
2003. The ship is beautiful, the cabins are fantastic and the staff
are very accommodating and professional. The ship feels smaller and
more intimate than the Mariner. She is so spacious and the public
rooms are laid out very well. The fabrics, furniture, and dcor of
the ship are absolutely incredible. There is a feeling that no cost
was spared to make this the premier ship in the luxury market.
Regent has managed to
retain the intimate feeling of a small ship that I love so much.
Whether it is the layout of the ship or the fact that the space
ratio per passenger is so high, I never had that "big ship" feel.
The main lounge has sight lines that are truly amazing. No columns
block the view from anywhere in the theatre, similar to the Mariner.
With this state-of-the-art lounge, the entertainment offerings have
certainly improved over Regent’s smaller ships because they are able
to stage larger, more lavish shows.
Dinner Onboard
The incredible options for
dining really make this ship special.
Signatures, the only Cordon Bleu restaurant at sea, is
the epitome of fine French cuisine in a truly sumptuous setting.
Prime 7
The most intimate of
restaurants on board, Prime 7 is a glamorous, contemporary
interpretation of a classic American steakhouse. Along with
avant-garde appetizers, savory soups and tantalizing desserts, the
stars of the evening are the main courses with eight USDA Prime,
dry-aged steaks to choose from, plus an enticing selection of lamb,
pork, poultry and seafood specialties. The
Compass Rose consistently offers fine dining with a
wonderfully varied menu. For a more casual ambiance,
La Veranda offers a tableside service dinner with a
changing menu and the restaurant takes on a completely different
feel than you experience during the day. Wine is complimentary at
dinner in all restaurants.
Key Observations
-
A truly beautiful ship. The
fabrics and dcor are more in the taupe colors
instead of the orange colors the other ships have -
I really like the colors. The beds and linens are
really first class.
-
The cabins are
wonderful. Every cabin has a balcony. The smallest
cabin is 356 square feet. Nice marble bathrooms with
a full tub and separate shower. Walk in closet with
tons of tub and separate shower. Walk in closet with
tons of tub and separate shower. Walk in closet with
tons of drawer space. The cabins have a high quality
ambiance. The beds have the same "down comforters"
as the Mariner, no top sheet. At first I was
confused. The comforters have covers that are washed
replaced. Without a sheet, that comforter just
snuggles around you and the effect is one of the
best night's sleep you can imagine. The wonderful
cabin, private balcony, down comforters, and
beautiful fabrics makes the cabin a place you do not
want to leave.
-
The food was
truly outstanding and the four distinctly different
restaurants are incredible.
-
If you like
entertainment, then this ship offers an outstanding
show lounge.
-
E-mail and
internet access is available and very reasonably
priced.
