ANTARCTICA CABINS

THE CABINS ON EXPLORER II

  • All the cabins are outside staterooms with windows and feature queen or twin beds, binoculars, TV and radio, hair dryer, direct dial telephone, vanity/writing desk, sofa, loveseat or chair.

  • The ship will not be at full capacity as the passenger count is limited to 198 people.

  • Below were our personal observations of the cabins. We were able to see all categories but not take pictures in all the staterooms since the cabins were occupied.  We have pictures of those we could take below.

Standard Staterooms – 8 SA cabins, 15 B cabins, 48 A cabins.
SA, A and B categories – 140 sq.ft
All these cabins are the same; it is just where they are located on the ship that sets the category rate. These standard cabins are small.  There is not much closet space, so don’t bring a lot of clothes because you won’t have room for them.  There is a self-serve laundry and laundry services. The cabins though small are well laid out with small bathrooms (shower only) and nicely furnished.   Perfect for single occupancy and tight for double occupancy.

  Nothing this small on Regent.

Hallway Deck B – SA & A cabin

Bathrooms SA, A and B

Superior Stateroom – 20 cabins
Category SP – 162 sq.ft.

This makes a difference in the room - the extra square footage is primarily in the larger bathroom with a tub and the walk in closet. There is a refrigerator in the closet. If you can afford it and there are two of you, this upgrade may be worth the extra money.

Nothing this small on Regent.

Sorry, no pictures available of the SP Category from our visit.

Deluxe Stateroom – 12 cabins
Category D – 226 sq.ft

This cabin is very comfortable.  All the amenities of the other smaller cabins but much larger and well laid out - it feels quite spacious.  Two double closets provide the room you need for your clothing.
Regent cabin comparison:
This cabin is sized in-between the Paul Gauguin (200 sq.ft) and Regent Mariner (252 sq.ft) cabins.  This is a big step up in space and comfort.
Deluxe Stateroom

Desk and Writing Area

Closet and TV

Deluxe Stateroom Bathroom

Suite – 10 cabins
Category S – 231 sq.ft with 59 sq.ft balcony – total 290 sq.ft

This cabin is only slightly larger than the Category D Deluxe Stateroom, but you also have a private balcony. Although it is cold, this balcony would be used more than you would probably realize. It is great for photographers to be able to immediately get the shot without having to go up on deck.
Regent cabin comparison:
The inside of this cabin excluding the balcony is sized in-between the Paul Gauguin (200 sq.ft)  and Regent Mariner (252 sq.ft)  cabins.

Sorry, no personal pictures available of Category S from our visit.

Owners Suite – 2 cabins
Category OS – 276 sq.ft with 84 sq.ft balcony – 360 sq.ft.

This cabin is the largest aboard with a large private balcony. Although it is cold this balcony would be used more than you would probably realize.  It is great for photographers to be able to immediately get the shot without having to go up on deck.
Regent cabin comparison:
The inside of this cabin excluding the balcony is sized in-between the Regent Mariner (252 sq.ft) and the Voyager (301 sq.ft)  cabins.

Sorry, no personal pictures available of the Owners Suite from our visit.
